Requests for Comments (RFCs) are documents created to propose technical and organizational issues for the internet. The first of these documents was created in 1969 and they have continued through this day. In actual fact, if you started reading RFCs from #1 and continued through the end, you would gain a pretty thorough understanding of how the internet works, how it evolved and where it was headed.
As defined by RFC Editor, "The official specification documents of the Internet Protocol suite that are defined by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and the Internet Engineering Steering Group (IESG ) are recorded and published as standards track RFCs. As a result, the RFC publication process plays an important role in the Internet standards process. RFCs must first be published as Internet Drafts."
The RFC standards documents are re-published here on Internet Tips and Secrets in order to provide a resource to all of the users of the internet. These documents are grouped in sets of 500 each. Enjoy.
